Writing

Our writing is completed by using our writer's notebooks. This notebook includes 5 different parts. They are divided into prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing. We use a variety of prewriting activities, but many times we use a four square writing block. We then take the prewrite to the next section, drafting. We draft our story using a blue pen. The blue pen cannot be erased, therefore all mistakes must be corrected in the revising and editing sections. After these corrections, our paper then becomes what we call a sloppy copy! Our sloppy copy gets all polished up in the publishing section. Last, our story is displayed on the bulletin board, shared with the class, and then stored in our published works portfolio. Our goal is to publish at least 10 stories this year!! We are learning how to "hook" our readers into the story. Here are some ways we have learned:
